David Barr is a trial attorney with Suhre & Associates. He joined the team in 2023 and brings a unique perspective to the table. Before joining the team, he worked nearly 20 years as a prosecutor in Texas, New Mexico and his home state of Kentucky. He has prosecuted all manner of cases including DUIs, misdemeanors, sex crimes, murders and death penalty cases. David even won a death penalty case before the Supreme Court of the United States.
David believes that professional success is easily measured by knowing that, at the end of the day, he gave it his all and did everything he could for his client. “You can fight without ever winning but never ever win without a fight.” A quote by Neil Peart that David likes to remind himself of daily.
Values can tell you a lot about an individual. “I come from a hard-working, blue-collar background, and that has served me well. My family instilled in me a strong work ethic. Always be early. Work harder and smarter than the next person. Take pride in what you do and make sure it shows. And most important, treat people with respect,” David says. You can count on David to treat his clients with respect and work diligently on their case.
David recently moved back to the Louisville area and is ready to hit the ground running. When David is not serving his clients, you can find him enjoying time with his wife, Sally. They love to travel. In fact, he has visited 33 out of the 50 states and seven foreign countries.
